چکیده

To prepare the samples for Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) imaging and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) measurements, as-grown carbon nanotubes were dispersed in isopropanol and sonicated using HD2200 homogenizer with a power of 20W for 5 minutes. To characterize the nanotubes by HRTEM, a droplet of the suspension was put on a Cu TEM grid with a lacey C film. Alternatively, we deposited a droplet of the suspension by dielectrophoresis on a Si3N4 membrane with pre-drilled 200 nm to 1 μm wide holes, prepared using photoand electron beamlithography processes. The substrate being compatible for both TEM and AFM, the measurements of the bending modulus have been performed on the same CNTs at each irradiation stage.

One-pot Three-component Functionalization of Carboxylated Shortend Multi-wall Nanotubes with Histidine Derivative

In this project, a three-component functionalization of carboxylated shortend multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT-COOH) by Histidine derivative via amidation method have been investigated. The functionalized MWNTs were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy, elemental analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Ag-catalysed cutting of multi-walled carbon nanotubes.

In this work, the cutting of carbon nanotubes is investigated using silver nanoparticles deposited on arc discharge multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The composite is subsequently heated in air to fabricate shortened multi-walled nanotubes. Complementary transmission electron microscopy and spectroscopy techniques shed light on the cutting mechanism. The nanotube cutting is catalysed by the fundam...

Electron Beam Irradiation Induced Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes Fusion inside SEM

This paper reported a method of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) fusion inside a scanning electron microscope (SEM). A CNT was picked up by nanorobotics manipulator system which was constructed in SEM with 21 DOFs and 1 nm resolution. The CNT was picked up and placed on two manipulators. The tensile force was 140 nN when the CNT was pulled into two parts. Then, two parts of the CNT were co...

Solvothermal synthesis of copper nanoparticles loaded on multi-wall carbon nanotubes as catalyst for thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate

Copper nanoparticles were synthesized on multiwall carbon nanotubes, (Cu)/(MWCNTs), based on solvothermal method. The used reagents include MWCNTs, cupric nitrate trihydrate (Cu (NO3)2.3H2O), diethylene glycol (DEG), diethanol amine. Characterization of Cu/MWCNTS nanoparticles was performed by techniques of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction sp...
